Toyota applauded for virtual activity
TOYOTA has been commended for its use of virtual worlds by marketing website Kzero.
Toyota was named as the most adventurous marketer as the Japanese car manufacturer has a presence in Second Life, There, Gaia and Whyville and used World of Warcraft in a recent commercial.
Adrian Si, director of Toyota motor sales, said: “I will say we’re investing in the six figures in the virtual space over several worlds. We’re trying to hit the users and innovators in these communities.”
The survey also revealed Gaia hosts the most brand names with companies like Sony and Warner Brothers already having developed substantial in-world presences.
